I have stayed in a lot of Airbnbs….I mean a lot. Some crappy – some unforgettable. Each month I’m going to highlight the best one and give the details of why it was a remarkable experience. First up (Which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone) – Paris.
Traveling to a foreign country isn’t always the easiest thing in the world. They eat different foods than us (which I fully embrace), they have different traffic laws and in most places, they don’t speak the same language as us. So, unlike most things that may be foreign to us, apps always stay the same. Here are some of the key ones I use when traveling -
First we have the apps that you may not have heard about just yet -
First, a quick story about me -
Girl raised in Philadelphia makes her way to the big city for college. Girl graduates school and says fuck it, I’m staying here. Having worked in the music industry most of college, girl decides to take a job as a PA at a music company. No, not an ‘MTV’ reality show every Thursday at 9pm kind-of music company. A live events and entertainment company. Girl decides she can do more than just get lunch and book conference rooms so she sets sight on a division that travels to put on music festivals worldwide. Girl lands the job and works her big ass off for 2 years and is now Lead Account Manager for that festival.
Okay, so you get where I come from. But let’s get into the weird and bizarre world I’m in –
It’s no surprise that everyone, their mother and their mothers’ ex’s mistress is obsessed with embroidery. I have fallen in love with the craze and sought out some of the best places to get your own digs customized. East and west coast, north and south – here are the guys that are doing the best needle and thread work.
It’s a very simple question that people don’t use enough to make connections…Can we grab a coffee?
In the world we live in today, connections are key to exploring different paths when it comes to a job. I can truly say the only reason I got to where I am today is because of the relationships I made through connections. Looking back at it all, I have only gone in for one formal interview for a job, the rest have been over coffee…
New York in a complex place where everyone has a strong opinion. I’m going to give you mine but first I want to make sure you understand that this is to my taste this month. If you were to ask me for my favorite dumpling place or the best place to have a large group dinner, these answers would change. Take this with a grain of salt and if you’re looking for something specific – just shoot me a note, I love giving recommendations for specific cravings or occasions.
As you will soon find out, when I discover items I obsess over, I become their brand ambassador. This is of course without the pay and/or recognition but that’s not the point. I’m ranting about that item because I genuinely think it’s something that my friends should consider using due to the fact that it has either made my life easier (I can be quite lazy) or more enjoyable. Here are two things this month that I can't get enough of -
